A trailing, scrambling or climbing succulent coastal plant with a 2 metre spread and thick bright green succulent edible leaves that have a similar flavour to spinach. This plant has small scented single yellow flowers followed by edible red berries. It prefers light sandy soil in an open sunny position, is extremely tolerant to coastal conditions and makes a good ground cover in dry sandy areas that can be used to stabilise soils.
